Using FTP is easy and I will tell you how to use it.
You first need a free program and I use AceFTP. You can download it at the link provided.
Ok first thing is first. You need a user name and password. Your host should provide this for you. If you have your own domain name than you will set this up with them when you
open you account.
You will need the hostname. Your host will give you this. If you have a domain name than it's just your domain name for the host.
Now on the left of your screen you will see all your files once you have signed on. Than on the right you will see all the files that are on your server.
So all you have to do is click on the left where your files are located on your computer and click the ARROW after the file you have chosen is highlighted.
This will transfer your files to your server account. If you just copy the files over to the right on your server than the address will just be image.gif when you put your extensions in. If you have made new folders
which you can do this by clicking on the right side (your server side) and click the folder that says create new folder. If you do this than you can upload your files to that folder and your extension would be foldername/image.gif.
If your being HOSTED your files will be located in your hosted name so it would look like this yourhostname/index.html or if it's in a folder you want to create it will be this yourhostname/foldername/index.html.
